The Beginning

As I'm walking up the stairs to the bathroom I hear a strange noise, I go across the hall to see what it is. I open the door to be bombarded by the smell of dog, gym socks and a hint of candle. Looking around I see something that resembles a bed covered with clothes and blankets. There is movement! I trip over to the bed move away the covers and find I dog, mom will be glad I found him. He runs out like his life depends on it. Now in the room I can take in the whole scene. There is a bookshelf crammed full of books and papers, there are even books on the floor! Next to it lies a dog bed covered in dirty or rejected clothes. No wonder the dog was in the other bed. The closet is open on one side where shoes and bags spill out of it. I walk over to see closer and notice the wood is sagging because of all the heavy clothing that has been shoved inside. A large dresser is on my left, not too dirty on top but the drawers are all opened with clothes hanging out. Some also have odds and ends sticking out; a tv remote, a couple magazines, and a tea cup. A sea of trash blocks me from exiting, I look at the remnants and notice several old waterbottles, many tissues, a couple spoons and a ramen packet? How'd that get up here. I look up to see my mom at the door smiling. "You're right Mom, I do need to clean my room," I say.

Yes reader, my room is a disaster! I can't use the excuse I'm a busy teen because it has always been like this. I mean sometimes I'll get in one of those big cleaning moods and make all these resolutions saying that, "It'll be different this time" and "I can really keep it clean" it never stays that way. Monday I was looking for my boots before school I was running late and there was only one in the closet. I looked everywhere in the house, the bathroom, laundry room, both living rooms, my dad's office and I couldn't find it. Well I found it Monday night, guess where it was. Under my bed pushed to the far side against the wall. So I had to climb under and dig it out in doing so I found a library book and my DS. It was then that I realized it was time to get organized for good. So for my school project I vow to spend 30 minutes a day Finding My Floor.

My plan of attack is simple, I just have to set aside time to do it instead of watching tv or playing video games. I will have it clean by tomorrow night and then keep it clean. I will report back every other day about my progress. Wish me luck!
